Maxsys Solutions is currently seeking a Linux Support Engineer for a yearlong contract in Plano.  Our client has been recognized multiple times for providing some of the most unique electronic solutions on a global level and are well-recognized for their products and services!   They are looking for a technical Linux Support Engineer that has previous experience in data center moves and working on virtual servers.   Must have wireless telecom experience with a strong background in Linux (Red Hat) along with strong communication and client-facing skills.

Technical Requirements:                                                                     

  • Linux and UNIX operating systems, Windows, VoLTE, LTE, SIP, DNS, IMS, SQL, Shell Scripting and wireless telecom space
  • Assist in moving data centers; responsible for increasing the company’s footprint on more virtual servers
  • Must be able to troubleshoot as well as install and configure specific products
  • Must have experience with TCP/IP fundamentals (includes IPv4 and IPv6) as well as real-time systems
  • After-hours rotating support (when necessary)
  • Process very large data sets
  • Must have experience with practices for mission critical systems
  • Travel req’d at times (less than 15%)

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Solaris or RedHat Certification is preferred
  • 3+ years of wireless telecom experience
  • Able to work weekends and/or other shifts
  • Must have experience working within fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication/client-facing skills and a self-starter
