Maxsys Solutions has partnered with a national industry leader in search of a permanent Communications Engineer in Las Colinas, TX.   This Communications role will be responsible for our clients’ company-wide voice, data and wireless networking/security systems.  Responsibilities include planning, designing and developing LANs and WANs across the company. 

Technical Requirements:

· Avaya, VoIP, PBX, routing/networking, LAN/WAN, enterprise environment

  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance support and optimization of all network and voice hardware, software and communication links
  • Analyze and resolve network related hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training

· Work closely with multiple teams in deploying Telco services and troubleshooting telecom performance issues

· Identify telecom architecture, evaluate products and implement new technologies into client locations as well as call centers

· Design data & voice solutions to support all client locations to include both in-store & data center infrastructure

  • Create and implement customized Call Reports
  • Ensure that all Communications technologies comply with industry best practices
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports

· Evaluate new technologies, develop business cases and make recommendations to team members as well as upper level management for implementation

  • Define network architecture, evaluate products, and implement new technologies into the stores & Call Centers
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
  • Implement all communication services in client locations

· Evaluate multiple vendor data products through documented test plans, vendor selection and engineering specifications

· Provide support for client implementations as well as Infrastructure teams (provided during and after project installation cycles)

· Configure, operate, upgrade and ensure maintenance of VoIP equipment

· Monitor and troubleshoot service demarcation points, equipment status, system alerts, and user’s service requests; provide status, document support problems and conduct repair/replacement actions

Other Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

· 5+ years of design experience with architecture, administration, maintenance, and provisioning of enterprise telecommunication networks and systems

· Must possess a strong understanding of LAN & WAN fundamentals (IP network structures (e.g. sub-netting), hardware components and requirements, quality of service requirements, and fundamental troubleshooting tools for wired and wireless Ethernet-based networks)

· 4+ years’ experience with Avaya phone systems

· 4+ years’ experience in an enterprise/telecommunications role

· 2+ years’ experience with LAN/WAN
